MPTE on the move towards the Japan-ASEAN collaboration

Assoc.Prof. Dr. Somrerk Chandra-ambhorn was invited to give a lecture and discuss on the high temperature corrosion research at the Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech), Japan, during June 28 to July 1, 2014.

In this occasion, Prof. T. Maruyama, the Executive Vice President for Education and International Affairs of Tokyo Tech, invited KMUTNB to be a founding member of the research network in the high temperature corrosion between Japanese and ASEAN universities. The workshop to set up the network is planned to be held at Tokyo Tech by the end of this year.

Furthermore, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Somrerk Chandra-ambhorn has delivered a lecture to the Tokyo Tech students. The objective of the talk was to exemplify the way to look at the classical problems concerning the high temperature corrosion of Si-containing steels in water vapour with new perspectives and experimental methods. The talk included the research works conducted with Dr. T. Nilsonthi, K. Ngamkham and N. Klubvihok recently published in Corrosion Science (2014), Oxidation of Metals (2013) and ISHOC Proceedings (2014) respectively.
